WIND BLOWS IN FOR A TRIAL

Danish Defender Morten Wind has arrived at Celtic Park for a two week trial. The left sided central defender has been playing well for his second division club Avarta IF and has reportedly been watched by several clubs.

Celtic's chief scout, yes they do have one, Tom O'neill has been speaking on the club's official website about the young Dane:

"The manager wants to have a look at Morten over the next couple of weeks,
and it will be up to the lad to impress," he said. "He's someone we
discovered through our contacts in Denmark, and everything we've seen and
heard so far has been encouraging.

"He's a big lad who possesses good aerial ability and technique, and he is
certainly much sought-after. We're certainly not bringing him over here for
the sake of it and, as with all the players who arrive here, the criteria
is that he has shown a fair bit of quality. Here at Celtic, we're very
selective about who we bring in, and Morten wouldn't be here if he hadn't
looked a bit special."

"He's available on a free because he's only registered as an amateur with
Avarta. And the fact we're not over-endowed with left-sided centre-halves
at the moment - there's only really Stephen Crainey and, further down the
ranks, Stephen McManus - means he's well worth a look."

"His all-round fitness could be better, mainly because he's just finished
his national service back in Denmark. But it's to his credit that, despite
having the option to postpone his trial, he's been very keen to get started."
