What is going on Celtic?

First a piece of general news. Sales of glue have rocketed this week. Rumours that all supplies of adhesive were being bought by the Daily Record and the Scottish Sun are un-confirmed. It is believe that this is due to cracked crests being unsuitable since Celtic have been winning in preseason!

So Celtic have gone on to win yet another friendly then? As Meatloaf sang "two out of three aint bad" but it is good to seen that no Celtic fans are getting carried away, as I is only preseason and these results are never a sign of the season to come.

It would appear to be a different story with our friends down Ibrox way. Proclamations of a treble and WGS getting the sack before Xmas reminds me of something…. I cant quite put my finger on it….. Ah I remember it reminds me of this time last year.

Now that Rangers have turned yet another corner (Christ they have turned more corners than Pac Man) we can expect to hear this type of bullish triumphalism from, well Bullish triumph lists and it only makes it all the more sweet when they fall flat on their faces again.

Only time will tell whether or not they will fall flat on their faces again, I feel that this season will not be as stress-free as previous seasons, but I am of the firm belief that the best team always wins the league (with the exception of 2003 and 2005 - For every rule there are exceptions) and I do believe we will prevail again this season, albeit they might manage a wee League cup final appearance.

Seriously though, what Rangers will offer this season is they will be big, physical and hard to beat, and with Walter buying players that will fight tooth and nail for the jersey they will go down fighting, and will be very hard to beat. So this season may be back to the old school war of attrition that was the late nineties and early naughties, I.e. win all your home games, most of your away games against the rest of the teams and get at least two points from our trips to the Bigot-Dome.

All in all I am looking forward to the new season with an air of confidence, lets not let any complacency creep in bhoys, remember it is them who come out with phrases like "be afraid Timmy", not us!

Yours in Celtic
