Weekly Review

Another week gone, and what a week it was! Three points each in both Champions League and SPL duty - and we done it in style!

Tuesday's game against Lyon was always going to be a tricky encounter, Lyon showed in the first half what a good side they are. Alan Thompson's missed penalty, as well as a couple of decent chances in the first half could have proved costly, but thankfully we got the goals we needed.

Our second half performance has to be put down as one of the finest I have ever witnessed at Parkhead. Liam Miller's goal was the outcome of 24 passes, and with Chris Sutton starting and finishing the move for the second, who could have asked for a better performance?

We can fear no one at Parkhead.

From Wednesday onwards, the build-up to Saturday's Old Firm game had begun. With Bobo Balde out due to suspension, as well as many other injuries, the press had basically given us no chance. Maybe it was just my Celtic-minded opinion, but I felt totally confident going to Castle Greyskull on Saturday, Rangers haven't been really tested this year, and have been getting too many lucky breaks. Their luck was about to run out.

As usual, the Celtic fans were in good spirits, many brought along protective masks just in case of any hun pollution! I have never been to Ibrox and witnessed a Rangers side create as little as they did on Saturday. Magnus Hedman was never troubled throughout the game, and Celtic had many good chances - if it wasn't for Stefan Klos the score would have been 4-0.

Celtic's tactics were defend and catch Rangers on the counter attack, which they exercised magnificently. Every player played a top performance, and Hartson's goal has brought the Bhoys back to the top of the SPL! What made it even sweeter was that there was a great element of luck in the goal - how many times have we had this aginst us?

We showed the huns up on Saturday for what they are - a mediocre side who can pass the ball a bit, but to no avail. Alot of their possession was given straight back to Celtic or else kicked right out of the park. Obviously there is a long way to go but Celtic have the chance to remain at the top for the remainder of the season.

No football this weekend for Celtic - good luck to Scotland in their game.

So a very satisfying week for Celtic fans everywhere, let's hope every week remains the same!
