Transfer Speculation Starts to Heat Up

With 2007 rapidly disappearing all media attention seems to have moved onto the impending transfer window. The faithful are more than a little nervous regarding what action Celtic will take during the January window.

With many glaring deficiencies in our squad at the minute and a lack of cover in the defensive flanks the news that Celtic have been linked with German International full back Andreas Heinkle has been well received. The question that counts however is whether or not Celtic will want to spend that kind of money on a Cup-tied player when we will have players returning to fitness in that position. Issues of quality aside a Loan deal for the player would have suited Celtic best in this position. I still hope we sign at least one proven fullback.

The continued speculation regarding Shaun Maloney and James McFadden making the journey North to Paradise has been quashed by both players respective clubs. It is obvious that we would not be looking to purchase both players but both players would be an asset to the team, with the return of Maloney being the most attractive.

A new name entered the media circus yesterday. Dundee United Captain Barry Robson has joined the list of SPL also-rans to be linked to the Champions. Whilst I am an admirer of the tenacious short tempered player with the shot like a rocket I cannot see where he would fit into the team, let alone whom he would relegate to the bench? However Robson did have a spell as a left back earlier in his career so is WGS thinking of using him there? Lets face it his delivery is far better than Lee Naylors is.

There is not too much speculation regarding players heading for the exit door at this time (well until the Scottish media resurrect their campaign to find Deek a new club!). On person reportedly poised with one foot in the out door is Maciej "Magic" Zurawski. Reports are linking him to LA galaxy. Polish National Coach Leo Beenhakker has urged Magic to move for the sake of his International career.

"The club you play for and the league or continental competition you are exposed to are important factors," said Beenhakker in the Daily Record

"But what matters most is that he plays football on a regular basis, the level is not really a problem."

"I think if Maciej were to accept a move to America, he'd find it a good level. The MLS is a good, developing league and Galaxy are a good side with some excellent individuals.

"Compared to sitting on the bench at Celtic, I know what I would choose!"

Another player rumoured to be heading for pastures new are Bobo Balde, with the perennial rumour that he is to join Sunderland being respun yet again! Whatever next, Keane for Celtic?

And finally, a spate of car crashes were caused as Fat DJ spread the word that Brother Hutton was to be subject of a 10Million pound enquiry from Spurs!

Injury Lawyers for you are currently camped out side the Stations Headquarters in Clydebank touting for business.

"Will I get 100% of the compensation after I crashed my car listening to this drivel?"

"Yes you will"

Yours in Celtic
