The Riordan argument, Strachan must go and more Lions Merchandise

So here we are on the eve of the Bank Holiday weekend with all of Timdom hitting the panic buttons and getting well and truly tore into our manager

Having been reading the musings of many in Cyberspace, the sheer volume of people now calling for Strachans head is gathering pace. One website that will remain nameless had a 71-page thread, resplendent with personal arguments between posters regarding the future of our Club.

I for one felt that it was a bit off that people were discussing who WGS's replacement should be. Even the unscrupulous Keevins et al have the decency to wait until a position is vacant prior to 'filling it' with prospective candidates.

I will wait to give my tuppence worth on the Manager in the "end of season review" (hopefully out after the Kilmarnock game, all things going well on the pitch) don't miss it, I can promise it will be, average at best! lol

The next argument is regarding everyone's favourite boyband member, Derek Riordan (you know how to pronounce it by now). There are two schools of thought on this one. Firstly, in the red corner we have the conspiracists who believe that Deek and WGS have had a falling out of Titanic proportions.
I cant see how Strachan would include a player in his squad that he has fallen out with, let alone waste a place on the bench on a player he will never play?

In the Blue corner, we have some purists who believe that Riordan is not a Striker, but is a left midfielder and therefore will be battling with McGeady for that spot. This argument makes a little sense after Deek's stunning performance from the left flank in the Livingston game.

Since McGeady has done nothing wrong and therefore doesn't deserve to be dropped then feel this may justify Deek getting skelfs on his arse for the mean time.

And this leads us on nicely to the 40th anniversary of our biggest every victory, the winning of the big cup. With yet another DVD release about this game one begs to ask the question "are the club milking this event for all its worth or does every decade since the final have to be remembered?

This is one for the fans to debate in Cyberspace, but I have to ask what is in it for the Lions?
Do they or the families that remember them get a cut of monies generated from the various merchandise and DVD's available and pending release?

Ages aside, why not celebrate the Silver Anniversary of it in ten years time?

That's all folks, look out for the next instalments of the "all about" series, with Patsy Gallacher getting the wand of remembrance waved across his career

Yours in Celtic
