The Holy Goalie Has No Charge to Answer.

The furore over the Artur Boruc T-shirt was closed yesterday as the SFA confirmed that they would be taking no action over the Players display of faith and have confirmed that the issue was not included in the Referees report.

The SPL have confirmed that they will not get involved in the issue stating"Matters of this type are the SFA's province. He continued, pointing out that a letter would be the extent of their action:"The most we could do would be to write to Celtic to say our attention had been drawn to an incident involving one of their players.

Part of me is happy with this outcome, but there is still a feeling that this outcome has more of an ugly "not proven" slant to it rather than a full vindication that Boruc had committed no crime. I mean, the very fact that this non-issue is reportable in the first place is something that I would like to see raised. Maybe those who feel "wound up" by this display of faith should be the ones who are getting investigated?

The notion that Artur has been cleared on a technicality rather than exonerated is held within this final quote from the SPL representative."If they have the disciplinary powers at their disposal we try to avoid double jeopardy which is two organisations pursuing the same player over the same allegation."

Hmm? What that says to me is we would rather not open this can of worms as we are not in a strong position but we still recommend that the player should be censured for what we perceive from his actions!

And then we come to the march of the Jokers as the usual suspects enter the fray. Rangers Assembly President Jim Templeton said: "We'd have liked to have seen some kind of action."I would suggest Celtic should be doing something but so far the only comment has come from their manager making a crass joke about Myra Hindley."

Where was the Joke Jim? He said it is not as if he was wearing a T-shirt of a murderer, which is a statement of fact and also highlights the issue that you appear to be offended enough by this to ask for action.

The Jokes continue: "The authorities appear to be terrified of upsetting Celtic in any way, shape or form. That is a worrying trend. Ha Ha, that's a classic Jim"Boruc did it for one reason and it was nothing to do with his faith. He did it to provoke Rangers fans."

Again I ask why this provokes these poor souls? What is the route of this provocation Jim?

And then, with the sound of loud rasping breathing aided by an electronic breathing unit Darth Edgar enters the discussion. This is simply the latest in a long line of incidents where Boruc has shown utter contempt for authorities, the police and the safety of supporters."

So why are these poor individuals feeling this way? What has inspired them to feel harassed and so angry? I mean what has provoked them? You would have imagined that in order to provoke the type of "people" who on Sunday sung songs about Tommy Burns, complained about an Asian player consuming their pets and rejoiced in paeodophilia as a wind up and sang their racist anthem like "why don't you go home" would be made of sterner stuff? I mean surely a picture of the ex leader of the Catholic Church would not offend a person who would stoop to those levels!

The issue Dear Rangers fans is not that Artur has been cleared, it is the sad fact that he had a question to answer in the first place!

Apologies to the many decent Rangers fans who do not take part in the vile behavior listed above, I do not tar you all with the same brush.

But those who do revel in songs regarding seriously ill people or the victims of a sick man should take a long hard look at yourselves before pointing any fingers at the actions of others. Do you realise how stupid you look when you spout your bile at a player and then get wound up by his religion?

Yours in Celtic
