The Heat is on! Super Celts Restore Four Point Lead.

Celtic restored their four-point advantage at the top of the SPL today with an impressive win over Hibernian at Parkhead. Goals from Captain Stephen McManus and The Antipodean Goal Machine Scott McDonald sealed the victory over the impressive Easter Road Side.

Hibernian who were chasing a place in Europe fielded a strong attacking side and came to have a real go at securing European football and sounding the death knell on Celtic's title challenge but it was the home team who were to prevail and hand the UEFA Cup place to Motherwell. Hibernian had their woes compounded when they were reduced to nine men after Cannning and Murray saw red.

Manager Gordon Strachan was happy with the performance, stating "It was a terrific game, and it shows that at this time of year you can still play good football," he said.

"Hibs were after the points they needed to get to third, we were after the points to keep the league going, and so it made for a smashing game.

"I thought we deserved it because we created more chances."

"Sometimes you're unlucky, as we proved this year that you can make a lot of chances and not be that lucky.

"Paul Hartley and Gary Caldwell were the best men on the pitch."

I would have to disagree with you there Gordon, as I felt that Robson and Nakamura were by far the best players on the field, and I feel that this best reflects what was our best attribute on the day, our forward play.

Only one left to go, Lets make it three-in-a-row!

Yours in Celtic
