Strachan on Another Celtic Late-Show

Celtic Manager Gordon Strachan reflected on seeing his team winning their SIXTEENTH game in the last few minutes since he took over the reins at Parkhead. Celtic have now amassed more than half a season's worth of victories in the closing stages of matches that does more than cement the clubs 'never say die' attitude.

"Hartley scored a terrific goal, and it was contrary to the rest of our performance," reflected the manager.

"We're fortunate we've got one or two players who can do exceptional things just at the right moment. We think we have enough ability to keep going, and we do believe in our energy. But for some reason a lot of them were below par.

"I know we were fortunate in this one. I'm just glad we had one or two in our side who could stay composed and pull out a goal like that."

Strachan also took time to comment on the refereeing decision that saw Celtic draw level just before half time "Football has shown you do get the breaks for and against you over a period of time. I don't think we've moaned about referees for a long time. We're not going to start now. Football can be harsh at times, and you have to deal with it." Strachan said taking a thinly disguised swipe at another SPL manager."

Some might say that fortune favours the brave, and this team under the stewardship of Strachan have this particular virtue in spades. Given their sheer stubborn reluctance to concede defeat in the past three seasons this points to a team that are prepared to drag their nuts over broken glass for one another, which must smack in the face of the Managers detractors who infer that he is incapable of communicating with his playing staff.
