Strachan Must Go

Celtic Manager Gordon Strachan heard the words that every manager dreads coming from a group of Celtic fans at this mornings game against DC United in the United States. Even the normally light hearted banter you get at these meaningless games started to dissipate as Celtic looked as if they were simply out to take the mickey and the money from supporters who had travelled across the country to see their beloved. hoops in action..

Celtic Lost 4-0 to a side which although fit and organised was hardly inspiring and fans believed they were short changed by Celtic who just plainly did not try. Fans are now having flashbacks to last season when we had a dismal pre-season before suffering a thrashing by Artmedia Bratislava and already we look much worse than we did then.

Even the tiny amount of passion that Celtic managed to show resulted in new Bhoy Kenny Miller being sent off and the hoops support were not slow to let Manager Strachan know what they though about the lack of effort.

On a brighter note (we are trying hard to find one) we are aware that these games are there to get match fitness for the players it is better getting the bad games outof the way before the real action starts.

Results mean very little in these games and last season proved this as we romped away with the title after having a very bad pre-season and the worst possible start to our champions league campaign. "Strachan must go" is a bit premature and the chant at the game was unwarranted at this stage in the season but the manager did take heed and perhaps we will see the Bhoys at least trying a bit harder in the next game.
