Strachan hails performance as McGeady reveals source of his Pittodrie masterclass

Gordon Strachan has hailed the performance of his stars at Pittodrie and has lavished praise on Aiden McGeady in particular for the wonder showing that he produced during Celtic’s 5-1 rout of Aberdeen.

Strachan was ecstatic that McGeady has managed to add a more consistent end product to his game and he cites the build up play for Scott McDonald’s second goal as example of this. Gordon Strachan said: "It’s a trick but he then chipped the ball to the back post, which is the hardest part.
If you do the trick but you’ve not got anything at the end of it, it’s just a trick. So to be able to do that makes you a top player."

Strachan went on to comment on the less popular performances on this season, "We’ve made elementary mistakes, human error in games this year, which has cost us and it’s put us four points behind Rangers. But a wee bit of pressure is what you need to have an edge and you have to deal with it."

Aiden McGeady has claimed that consistency is the key to his form this season. When asked what is the difference this season Aiden said "It's consistency. In the past I was maybe having three or four good games in a row then having a couple of bad ones.

"This season I seem to be playing well over a longer period of time and I think the main thing is that I am setting up more goals, which is what I am paid to do."

Setting up goals is one fine Aiden, to continually do this and also put on a show for the travelling support is another. Keep up the exceptional work young man, you make watching Celtic so much more appealing!

Yours in Celtic
