Signing Target updates and Ronaldinho pays homage to Hoops Star

Last updated : 29 May 2007 By Clydebuilt

Perennial Celtic target Robbie Keane has finally put years of speculation about his future behind him and committed to Spurs for the rest of his career. Will this be the end of "My mates grannie’s auntie’s cats taxi driver saw Robbie Keane At Glasgow Airport" stories?

Despite many rumour mills going crazy over this one, Craig Bellamy was not at Hampden on Saturday to witness Celtic huff, puff and eventually blow Dunfermline’s house down. Although stories that the club invited him have not been denied by our mole.

We are still awaiting an update on the story we broke yesterday regarding a massive signing being imminent this week. We can add however that it looks more and more likely that this signing will not be as massive as first proclaimed. Think a famous Ronnie Barker character for more information.

Now onto the subject of Ronaldihno’s opinions of Footballers the world over. Speaking at the launch of the 2007 FIFPro World Player of the Year the Donkey-like impressario nominated none other than resident Japanese genius Shunsuke Nakamura.

He said: "Nakamura is a player I know very well. I have played against him at many big events such as the Olympics and in the Confederation Cup so I have always followed his career.

"He used to have a great partnership with Hidetoshi Nakata and I like them a lot. They have great quality."

Nice one Ronnie, how about a years sabbatical in the East End of Glasgow?

News that Derby have pipped West Bromich Albion may have some influence on the Celtic squad for next season. You may remember we told you a couple of weeks ago that Jason Koumas of WBA was interested in a move to Glasgow, but only if WBA failed to stay in the Premiership. Now they have been relegated we may be having talks with the Player.

Oh and the player who scored the only goal of the match to secure Albion’s plight? None other than Stephen "I didn’t sing the add-ons "Pearson!

We also hear that Strachan is pushing really hard to have all his summer signings in place before pre-season training starts in June. Although it will cost us a fortune in wages we understand that WGS wants all targets in place to be as strong as possible for the start of next season. Especially as we have to traverse a qualifier for the Champions League this season.
