Following advice from Lord McCluskey the SFA has been forced into reviewing its retrospective discipliniary procedures in the wake of the Bobo Balde suspension. Speaking yesterday, SFA Chief Executive David Taylor was forced into admitting that changes were imminent:

"We will shortly hold our wide-ranging annual review of disciplinary procedures, with input from representatives of the clubs, players and referees.

"I can confirm that there have already been discussions within the SFA in respect of the procedures associated with the use of video evidence.

"The recommendations of Lord McCluskey will be considered along with other possible changes to the disciplinary procedures for the forthcoming season.

"However, it should be recognised that in improving the wording of our disciplinary procedures, the principle remains the same - players who are guilty of violent conduct should be punished, preferably by the referee in the course of the match.

"But if that does not happen, then there must be a system in place to allow it to happen retrospectively."

Balde had appealled his suspension on the grounds that the discipliniary procedures were not handled properly and the announcement by the SFA yesterday surely justifiies Balde's complaint.
