Serie A Team Bid to Return Naka to Italia

Bologna have today confirmed that they have made a bid for Celtic's Japanese genius Shunsuke Nakamura.

Club president Alfredo Cazzola stated We want to build a great team at Bologna and the first new face I want on board is Nakamura.

"We have already formalised our offer to Celtic, so they know the conditions of the proposed transfer.

"We are waiting to hear back from Celtic about the offer once they've discussed it with the player. We hope they'll give us permission to speak to Nakamura. If they do we'll contact him to discuss the move."

Meanwhile former Celtic star Lubo Moravcik has stated that Nakamura would be crazy to accept the lure of a return to Italy saying that If AC Milan put together a bid and make Celtic an offer for you then you go. But if Bologna do the same thing the answer is no.

"You never leave a big club like Celtic for a smaller one like Bologna. There isn't even a question to be answered.

"It all depends on how the player feels and I wouldn't pretend to know Naka's thoughts on how much longer he wants to stay in Glasgow.

"But I know the move to Celtic was the biggest thing that happened to me in my career and I would never have left them for a small team like Bologna."

Wise words Lubo, but one wonders if this adds weight to the rumours recently that Celtic may be prepared to cash in on Nakamura this summer and bring back a similar, younger player to replace him.

Who knows what may happen, I for one hope that Naka stays in Glasgow.

Yours in Celtic
