Celtic have today announced that they will be freezing the price of a season ticket for season 2008/2009 and have also announced a scheme that will allow and encourage a lot of kids to Celtic Park.

The new pricing policy will see children's season tickets starting at just £50.

Celtic Chief Executive Peter Lawwell said: "Our supporters are acknowledged throughout the world of football as being among the very best and once again this season they have been fantastic in their support of the team.

"The club has enjoyed a strong financial performance over the past year and we want our supporters to share in that success.

"As a gesture of our appreciation and thanks for that faithful and continued support, we are delighted to announce that we are freezing the cost of all adult, student and 65+ season tickets for 2008/09.

"We also recognise that our younger supporters are the future lifeblood of Celtic and so we are offering a fantastic new range of season ticket prices for fans up to the age of 18."

The new price structure for younger supporters for 2008/09, which excludes home league matches against Rangers, will be:

Age 12 and under: £50 season ticket (£2.63 per match)
Age 13-16: £100 season ticket (£5.20 per match)
Age 17-18: £150 season ticket (£8.00 per match)

Can I be one of the first for congratulating Celtic on this news.

Yours in Celtic
