Rumours, Rants, and Raves

Last updated : 16 February 2007 By Jack Kennedy

Rumours Rants and Raves? It must be Friday then. Here we go on our Friday roundup of what's going on in Timland and as usual we have only made up around 75 percent of it but there are one or Two wee Gems in there. Oh and if you believe its only 75 percent made up then we know a man from Nigeria who wants to send a few million to your bank account ;)

There is one story today which we do need to be serious about though and that's the fact that Italian authorities are informing stewards at the San Siro NOT to let in people to the stadium that don't have I.D which confirms they are home supporters. The Celtic allocation is of course safe and those getting tickets through the club and Thomas cook are ok but people buying tickets from unofficial sources and the Milantiamo ticket agency are in a bit of a pickle.

The Italian ticket agencies print the name of the ticket holder on the actual tickets and if your I.D does not match the name and does not confirm that you are a home supporter then you will NOT be allowed into the ground. This is the latest news from the Italian police and there does not seem to be a way of getting around it. We Do know however that the ingenuity of our supporters means that we will still have a huge support in the San Siro.

We can't do our Rumours, Rants, and Raves without an Artur Boruc story and the latest news to come from Paradise is that Arturs contract does indeed have a get out clause. It is rumoured (dontya just Love a rumour) that the get out figure is 5.75 million ponds and that the offer must allow 13 weeks notice. Celtic are said to be actively pursuing a “top rated” keeper at the moment but unfortunately we can't get to the bottom of this one as the only keeper we have found an interest in is Craig Gordon and we don't count him as “Top Rated”.

JJP Doumbe , (we really need to get that guy a nickname) has been having fun during training and is said to be the team clown. Doumbe has ended up being very popular among his team mates and likes to wind them up a bit. Doumbe has been talking the mickey out of the Italian press and has been sending his ex Rennes teammate Youan Gourcuff who is now on the books at Milan text messages which are said to include “Are you Rangers in disguise”. Mr Doumbe seems to be getting into the swing of things rather nicely.

We had an entry in our “phew I just got away with that” awards this week when it was revealed that a first team player was stopped by the polis on the East Kilbride expressway at 1.45am. The player was in the company of a mystery blonde And was stopped because he was driving erratically. The Mystery Blonde was a bit of a surprise to the police as they had originally thought there was only one person in the car but she had seemingly been looking for her mobile phone which she had dropped. The player was let off with a warning but we tend to think it was because the polis couldn't spell his name

The Board, The PLC the guardians of our great club (insert any other name you like in here) seem to be happy bunnies this week as the pennies seem to be rolling in. They are of course delighted at the financial results and are even more delighted that there is a gulf starting to form between the dire finances of Rangers and ourselves. Don't believe the statements that “We need a strong Rangers and they will be back as strong as ever” Secretly the Celtic directors are falling about laughing at the plight of the huns and who could blame them.

This week we welcomed Frank McAvennie to Cybertims and Frank will be taking part in Live chatroom sessions and has said that if we can get it set up he will be delighted to do a Live skypecast . This will be truly live and unedited and should be great fun and will no doubt provide plenty of talking points. Frank isn't known to hold back and we are delighted to Have him on board.

Finally this week we have a wee word of advice for the Celtic player who was in a shoe store in Coatbridge retail park. We know you have signed a new contract wee man but when you are on your type of wages asking for a discount on a pair of shoes at £24.99 because you “play for Celtic” just isn't cool ;)

Hail Hail from everyone at www.cybertims.com and we hope to see you on our forum
