Robson’s Green and White Induction

Barry Robson has spoken of the build up to the moment that he became the first Celtic Player in living memory to score with his first touch of the ball on his debut.
Robson revealed that Aiden McGeady Cheekily intimated that when the fans were singing his name to the tune of the Nakamura song that they were asking for the Japanese genius’ return to the field to take the kick!
Robson explained however that the joking by Aiden the wonderful did not put him off. “The fans were chanting my name and Aiden was joking that he was going to get Naka back off the bench to take the free-kick,” Robson said, “but I just stepped up and tried to find the corner. I did that and it was a good goal.
“Of course, I’m delighted that I scored on my debut, but I know that’s not going to happen every week. I just need to keep trying to do well and work hard for the team.
“It was a dream start, but the most important thing for me was the win and the performance,” he continued.
Of Aiden the wonderful’s sublime man of the match performance Barry commented “I thought Aiden’s performance was unbelievable,” continued Robson. “He’s a frightening player and I’m just glad to be playing with him, and not against him.
“But I’ve been impressed with all the boys. In the two games since my arrival, they have all been outstanding and there is a great team spirit.
“It’s a great bunch of boys here and you can’t praise the last two performances highly enough. I’m just pleased to be a part of it.”
And we are pleased that you are part of it, if we are still a little confused as to why we spent over a million pounds on a squad player! That aside though you can never have too many deadball specialists at your team. With Robson now joining Nakamura and Mizuno as free-kick specialists at the club it would appear that a freekick in or around the box might be as good as a penalty to this current Celtic squad. Defenders beware!
