Rangers Banned from Bolton. Celtic fans still welcome

The match commander involved in the Bolton V Rangers pre season friendly has cancelled the game because they are unable to meet the policing needs for the event. More than two thousand tickets have already been sold for the event and the club is refunding the money to their unwanted support.

Pub Landlords around the ground are said to be glad of the move as the cost of boarding up their windows and having to close for the day would have had a bad effect on their takings.

Celtic fans were welcomed by the same police force for the Roy Keane testimonial and the police issued a statement the next day praising their behaviour and promising a warm welcome for any future visits.

The greatest fans in the world are always welcome in the Manchester area and the refusal to allow Rangers fans a visit has been seen by some as a slap in the face for the Ibrox club. The Bolton team bus is rumoured to have been fitting wire cages over its windows for the visit of the Rangers fans and the Ibrox club has now decided to play the game at Ibrox behind closed doors.

Rangers fans who can read have been passing the message on to the other 95 percent of their supporters and there a lot of very unhappy teddy bears at the moment.
