RACIST CHANTING MARS OLD FIRM DERBY

The 7,000 Rangers fans amongst the 60,000 fans at the Celtic and Rangers derby shamed their club today with some of the worst racist behaviour seen at a football ground in modern times.

This time though the chants took on a new twist with Celtic's east European players getting the bulk of the abuse with chants of, "Gypsy", aimed at Lubo Moravcik and Stillian Petrov.

Didier Agathe was also subject to the usual racist remaks due to the colour of his skin.

It really is time Rangers Football Club dealt with this cancer amidst it's support. The usual excuse of it only being a minority of supporters indulging in such behaviour cannnot be used this time as, to a man, every single Rangers fan at the East End of Celtic Park joined in the chants.

There is no place for racism in Scottish Football and it is time that the measures taken in England to stamp out this behaviour were applied north of the border.

To their eternal shame Rangers Football Club seem to be oblivious to those amongst their support who revel in these racist chants and yet most of those indulging in it at Celtic Park must be season book holders at Ibrox, would it be that difficult to weed out the guity and then banish them from Ibrox?

For that to happen though would take a certain amount of determination from those in charge at Ibrox - sadly there seems very little chance of this happening so it could be down to the Poilice and Scottish executive to act to rid us all of this insidious menace.
