Portsmouth losing interest in Petrov

Portsmouth's interest in Celtic's Petrov has cooled and they are now concentrating on signing West Brom defender Curtis Davies and French star Nicolas Anelka. Petrov will be dropped in favour of these two players which would eat up all of the Portsmouth transfer budget and leave no room for Petrov.


Like all clubs Portsmouth are under pressure to make new signings and it is thought that Celtic have stalled too long regarding Petrov and that boss Gordon Strachan now intends to keep the player at Parkhead. Strachan refusing to allow the player to leave was seen as a move to keep up the players value but the longer he hangs onto the player the more other clubs are losing interest.
