Celtic Park will host a tribute match to the memory of Tommy Burns on the 31st May. The Bhoy from Soho Street who has been an integral part of Celtic in the past 30 years as a player, manager and coach is to be honoured by ex Celtic players from the past 3 decades along with a few other honoured guests.

The game will see the current first team face a Celtic Select of players who were part of Tommy's great footballing career. Tommy's son Jonathan will also make a special appearance at the match.

The Celtic select will be managed by none other than Lisbon Lion captain and two time manager Billy McNeill, who is said to be honoured at being asked to be part of such a special occasion.

Included in the list are team-mates from each stage of Tommy's playing career, along with players that he managed, both at Celtic and also current Dunfermline boss Jim McIntyre who played for Tommy at Reading.

Here is a list of players already signed up to appear:

Tommy's early days at the club will be represented by Murdo MacLeod, Davie Provan and Geoge McCluskey.

The 1988 centenary team will be represented by Paul McStay, Peter Grant, Pat Bonner, Joe Miller, Andy Walker and Derek Whyte.

Players who Tommy managed such as Tom Boyd, Simon Donnelly, Pierre van Hooijdonk, Alan Stubbs, Tommy Johnson and Tosh McKinlay will be pulling on the Hoops again.

Finally Tommy's life will be honoured by players who never had the pleasure of playing with the great man such as Neil Lennon, Stilian Petrov, John Hartson and Paul Lambert.

Tickets are priced at £15 and £5 for concessions and the game kicks off at 2pm.

See you there

Yours in Celtic
