Ooh Ahh Samaras - Singing Ooh Aah Samaras!

Georgios Samaras turned on the style at Rugby Park today to lead his side to a well-deserved and truly reflective 3-1 victory against Kilmarnock. His two goals in the second half led Celtic to a well earned victory with the only blight of the afternoon being the harsh red card that was awarded to Gary Caldwell in the dying seconds of the match for deliberate hand ball.

Samaras' all round play was excellent and he rounded off a superb afternoons work with two goals, with the pick of the bunch being his superb solo effort that destroyed the Killie defence. Picking up the ball in his own half Samaras powered past the hapless Fraser Wright to carry the ball half the length of the pitch before calmly placing the ball in the far corner of the net.

The on fire striker could have topped the game off with a hat trick but only the woodwork denied him after he had taken his tally to seven goals in four matches after he coolly dispatched a penalty.

Celtics all round play was excellent and both wing backs played the game really well with Lee Naylor being greatly involved in a lot of the play to better effect than he has been used to.

Gary Caldwell also played his part with an excellent display and his all round game really has come on exponentially in recent times. His tackling was assured, especially as the last man and he looked comfortable and composed throughout the match.

To be fair I cant really pick out any player who didn't have a good game this afternoon. Scott Brown was back to his dogged tenacious best and the quietly impressive Marc Crosas seemed to assist in Brown's game by given him the freedom to be at his swashbuckling best. We could really have unearthed a gem in Crosas who has really stamped his mark on this Celtic midfield, albeit subtly.

Well done Bhoys, an impressive and entertaining performance all round and I for one am really enjoying watching you play at this time.

Yours in Celtic
