ONEILL SLAMS SFA OVER HEARING DATE CHANGE

Speaking on today's BBC Saturday Sportscene Martin O'Neill has accused the SFA of refusing to reveal why the moved the date of the Bobo Balde hearing forward for no apparent reason. Refuting any criticism that Celtic have been cynical in their appeal against the suspension imposed on Balde, O'Neil had this to say:

"The club didn't appeal against the decision - Bobo Balde appealed and he's
got that right to appeal.

"What was sinister was that the SFA meeting was meant for some time later in
the month and they changed that and didn't give us a satisfactory reason why
they changed that."

Meanwhile, O'Neill continues to sweat over the fitness of more than one of his first team regulars:

"We've got a number of injuries," added O'Neill. "We are looking at Henrik
Larsson and Joos Valgaeren and we'll wait until the morning of the game
before making a decision.

"Henrik strained his hamstring and has done very little training this week.

"But knowing Henrik he is going to be quite keen to play. He is an important
player for us.

"At that stage of the game there was no point risking the player with a
hamstring problem. We brought him off which was better than him playing on
with it.

"We've given it a bit of time and he's had some scans this week which show
no major concern, but that doesn't mean that everything is absolutely okay.
Hamstring injuries like everything else need a bit of rest.

"It looks like it will be another week for Joos. He's been resting and doing
his own hard work. The rest of the players are improving it's just a matter
of time."
