O'NEILL SIGNS NEW CONTRACT!

Hoops boss Martin O'Neill has signed a 12 month rolling contract with Celtic, putting to an end rumours about his immediate future.

Martin said he is "delighted" with the new deal, but it is nowhere near ideal for the Celtic supporters. His new contract means that he can leave Celtic whenever he wishes, and if he does stay for the duration of the 12 months, we will all face ourselves in the same situation as we have faced over the past few weeks.

It sounds to me that Martin had decided to leave, but Dermott Desmond has persuaded him to stay with the club for another year. In my opinion, Celtic have made the wrong decision in keeping on a man, who is obviously not commited to the club. This means that if Manchester United, Leeds or Liverpool decide they need a new boss, Martin will be an easy take for them.

In the meantime, Celtic will just have to keep thinking of the present, not the future. I shudder to think what sort of state we will be in if Martin O'Neil and Henrik Larsson both leave Celtc at once.
