No worries over Brown

Scott BrownCeltic assistant manager Johan Mjallby has played down fears that captain Scott Brown will miss the start of the season after aggravating his ankle in the 2-1 win over Braga injury. The midfielder, who has had two ankle operations in the past 18 months, suffered pain in the same area during Wednesday's game. However, Mjallby does not believe he will miss the opening game against, returning to the SPL, Inverness Caledonian Thistle on 14 August.

He said: I wouldn't think so. I can't say for certain whether it's going to be a concern but right now I think he's going to be okay for the start of the season. He felt a bit sore after the game. He's had problems with his ankle in the past. But he had a great game against Braga. If he says he's fine to play that's good enough for me."

Brown will have to report for international duty on Monday but it could be that once examined by the national doctors he will be left behind when the squad head to Sweden for Scotland's friendly in Stockholm. Mjallby said: "
He needs to meet up with the Scotland squad and then they'll make a decision."
