Naka Hints at Ne’erday Return to Fitness

Shunsuke Nakamura told Japanese reporters today that he is looking to return to action early in 2008.

Naka said "I wanted to play in Milan on Tuesday night," Nakamura told the Japanese Press. "But of course I could not.

"It was not a great game but it was a great night because we made the knockout stages for the second year in succession".

"I have to rest and have treatment at the moment, that’s all I can do, but I am looking forward to the last-sixteen games in the New Year.

Lets hope we see Nakamura in the Hoops sooner rather than later, although WGS will have a decision on his hands whether to introduce Shunsuke straight back into the starting line-up, and also which flank will he play on?

Strachan’s insistence of playing both his wide midfielders on opposite flanks has had many questioning why nullify the natural ‘by-line’ threat of both players has been the source of much criticism of the manager. Most feel that he prefers his wide men to cut inside on their favoured foot, but this is at the expense of general natural width, something that great Celtic teams have used as their trademark.

That aside though, I would rather be faced with the discussion above rather than being unable to call upon the services of this superb player.
