Tony Mowbray has confirmed reports that Celtic are interested in bringing FC Seoul midfielder Ki Sung-Yong to Paradise. Reports yesterday suggested that his Club are unwilling to part with the highly rated young player but it would appear that Celtic are negotiating with the players representatives.

Mowbray however was quick to point out that this will not be an impact singing. Instead the Manager sees him as one for the future.

"I'd like to play it down a little bit. I have seen the boy and he's very, very young."

"I don't see him making a big impact on the team right now. If he does come, then I'd suggest it's something for the future.

"He's a young player with potential. Every player we sign is a big signing, but this kid has potential."

The player's representative Lee Yeung-Joong expressed doubts that the player would sign for Celtic before the end of the transfer window.

"Celtic have offered Ki a contract," said Joong, "but the problem lies with his current club because they are very negative about selling him.

"Ki is a very good player but FC Seoul do not want to let him go. He certainly has a lot of potential and there is no doubt he has a very good future in the game.

"In my opinion, a transfer before the August deadline will be very difficult to achieve. It is unlikely. I think a transfer in January would be a far more agreeable prospect to this club."

Yours in Celtic
