LENNON REPORTED FOR CROWD INCITEMENT

Neil Lennon had to make a trip to the referee's dressing room after the Scottish cup tie with Aberdeen last night. The police covering the match reported the midfielder to the referee for behaviour likely to incite the crowd and the referee Hugh Dallas informed Lennon that he would be including it in his match report.

Lenon, who was the subject of sectarian taunts throughout the ninety minutes, has the backing of manager Martin O'Neill over this incident:

'I have on this occasion a lot of sympathy with the player. The last time we
played here, the celebrations were not reported to the referee. George
Douglas said the police have made a report to the referee claiming
incitement.'

Celtic meet Aberdeen again on saturday in what is bound to be a highly charged atmosphere following last night's events.
