Keane's retirement will strengthen Celtic

The News today that Roy Keane is hanging up his boots Is not exactly a surprise to the Celtic support. Roy has been a fantastic influence with the hoops players and has spent a lot of time coaching the younger players and offering advice that only someone with his experience and stature in the game can give. The man has a place in the heart of many Celtic supporters and will be a loss to the club.

What might surprise you though is that Celtic will be a much better Champions league team this season WITHOUT Roy Keane. European teams do their homework and have targeted Keane and Lennon as the Celtic weak spots when they play in midfield. When Clyde inflicted defeat on Celtic last season their players were told to "run at Keane and Lennon" and they exploited their lack of pace to the fullest, Just think what a good Champions league team could do.

We all know that Keane and Lennon's experience does give them an extra yard or two. both these guys are great players and Celtic have been fortunate to get their services. The Loss of Keane is a blow to Celtic as a club and to the spl in general. But losing Keane in the champions league? I reckon it will make us stronger.

Will Keane's loss weaken or strengthen Celtic in the Champions league? Let us know what you think www.cybertims.com
