It certainly looks that way as mysterious stories appear in the press linking him with a move to Borrussia Dortmund. Of course, there are no quotes in these stories but could it just be that the players agent is circulating them in order to stir Celtic into offering the Belgian more money?
The ways and means of the International transfer market are a mystery to your ordinary fan and the tricks that some agents get up to would make Fagin look like Mother Theresa, so, I wouldn't be surprised at all if the person behind the "Joos for Dortmund" stories was the Belgians agent.
Valgaeren is entering the second year of his Parkhead contract, come the summer, and no doubt he will be starting to feel that he should be getting a new deal. Fair enough, he has probably done enough to earn it but the way things are done leaves a nasty taste in the mouth as far as I'm concerned.
So, expect to see, in the next few weeks, a wee story popping up in the press concerning Valgaeren being it talks with Celtic over a new improved deal.
In the murky world of an agnet fuelled transfer market I am afraid that is the way things are done nowadays and it is something we will just have to live with as long as Agents are in control of the transfer system.
