Gordon Strachan has rubbished claims that Goalkeeper Artur Boruc will be out injured for the rest of the year - claiming that the Holy goalie could make a return to action in time for the Aalborg game

"It will be closer to two weeks than two months for Artur." Said Gordon

"We can do nothing about his operation taking place at this time because it's the club doctor's decision."

The Manager also believes that deputy Keeper Mark Brown is ready willing and able to step in to fill Artur's gloves. He said: "Mark is ready for it.

"I have never seen anybody prepare as well for an opportunity as he has.

"He has left no stone unturned and given us an incredible professional performance over the last five or six months to get himself ready for when he will be needed. He has no fears that when he plays he could have done anything else in preparation for his opportunity."

There are still many fans who distrust the ability of Brown and his commitment, especially after he was laughing and joking with former team mates during Celtic's defeat to Inverness at this stage of the season last year, but the Boss is convinced that Brown has what it takes to cover.

The Manager also hinted that there will be no breathing space for players who may still feel a little jaded after Wednesdays energy sapping performance against Man U. He has ran out of players to replace them!

"I'm running out of bodies, so everybody will need to play," he said. "Under normal circumstances I would have changed the team after such an emotional night as the one against Manchester United but this time I can't."

"We know we can deal with big games, such as one that follows a Champions League tie. The spirit that has kept us going was clear for everybody to see on Wednesday night when we had a really good side against a team who refused to be beaten."

There was also good news on the subject of McGeadys injury "Aiden's got a calf strain and will be out for two weeks."

It would also appear that other key players with long term injury problems are also starting the long return to fitness, with the manager confirming that Samaras, Crosas and Big Jan are all on the road to recovery

"Sami's doing a little running, Jan and Marc are in the gym at the start of their rehabilitation." Strachan said.

Yours in Celtic
