Injury Update

There was reasonably good news coming from Celtic Park today, on the injury front, we have received a big boost prior to tomorrow’s visit to Livingston.

Information was scarce regarding the state of Chris Sutton and Jackie McNamara after both were taken off in midweek. It was confirmed today that Sutton suffered mild concussion but trained today, and is available tomorrow. Reports that UEFA laws ruled a player out for at least two weeks with a head injury were quashed as nonsense. Meanwhile, Jackie McNamara suffered a back spasm during Wednesday’s game, but should be available for selection tomorrow. Both players trained today.

Looking at the long-term treatment table, it was said that Shaun Maloney will resume training in the next week and is recovering well, and John Kennedy’s third operation has been postponed for a month.

Alan Thompson has been making a speedy recovery and will also resume training soon.
