Fletcher Desperate For Celtic Move and Strachan Wont Stand in Naka's Way

Hibernian Striker and Celtic Target Steven Fletcher has revealed that he is desperate for Hibs and Celtic to do a deal to take him to Celtic Park.

Hibs rejected an undisclosed approach from Celtic on Friday and it is understood that Celtic are unwilling to meet Hibs 3M Valuation of the player. Celtic sees a cash plus player deal more appropriate.

"I'm excited at the thought of moving to Celtic Park, I'm ambitious and would love to play for them,"

"I'm at a stage where I want to win things and play in The Champions League. Celtic will give me that chance.

"For the development of my career it is time to move to a bigger club.

"It will help me and improve my chances of playing for Scotland.

"If I get the chance to go to Celtic I don't plan to be sitting on the bench. They have international class players in every position but I will work hard and push to get in the starting line-up.

"It is within my capabilities to make a worthwhile contribution to Celtic and their push for silverware. But it's out of my hands and that's a little frustrating.

"I've been in the Hibs first team since I was 17 and I will always appreciate that- but it is time for me to progress and I hope that is taken in to account"

Meanwhile Celtic Manager Gordon Strachan has revealed that he would not stop Shunsuke Nakamura from returning home should the Japanese Genius decide to go back to Japan in the summer.

Naka's never said he's going back," Strachan said. "He hasn't mentioned his future plans.

"But if he said to me, 'I want to go home to play in Japan and show everybody what I've learnt playing at Celtic and overseas', we would just have to say, 'Thank you very much, it's been a great experience' - and hopefully get a holiday in Tokyo out of it."

Lets make sure that Nakamura heads back to Japan with another SPL medal, and a couple more Cup medals too!

Yours in Celtic
