Alex Ferguson has given Celtic Manager Gordon Strachan access to scouting data on Aalborg Strachan has revealed today, although you can be sure that Strachan is just being coy when he says that the information is limited to data regarding the pitch.

Strachan also revealed that he has been over to Aalborg and watched there last domestic match and feels that the Danish side are a little more compact in midfield than they had been under ex manager Bruce Rioch.

Strachan said: "Sir Alex said Aalborg's pitch was fantastic.

"What else did he tell me?

"Watch what I was doing with the wine because I'd spilled some! We spoke about one or two things Martin [Ferguson, Fergie's brother and Chief Scout] had told him so yes, he passed on some info.

"I watched Aalborg's last domestic game and they are more compact in midfield since their change of manager.

"They are a big side and that has to be a factor in our team selection.

"I liked how we performed in Villarreal but Aalborg play differently and we don't have the same choices due to injuries.

"We may think this is a great chance to win away but they will see it as a real possibility to win their first home game."

They will do Gordon. The result of this game will seal Celtic's European fate this season. A victory in Aalborg would guarantee Celtic third place in the group and qualification for the UEFA Cup given their head to head results with the Danish side. If, however Celtic get a victory and Manchester United beat Villarreal in Spain a two goal victory against our Spanish friends would guarantee Celtic progression to the later stages of the Champions League for the third year in a row.

Which competition would you prefer to be in come January?

Yours in Celtic
