![]() Izaguirre, who played in the World Cup for Honduras, made a special trip to Guatemala last week to ensure the necessary paperwork would not present a problem with a transfer to Celtic. He went on: "Celtic showed a lot of interest in me and I'm delighted to be here. I think any player in the world would be happy to arrive at a club as big as this. I know the demands of playing for Celtic, that you have to win every game, but I'm ready for that. The Scottish game has a fast pace to it, but I think that will suit my own style of game. I feel fit enough to start on Sunday if the manager selects me." Izaguirre was stunned that Celtic dropped out of European football after losing 4-0 away to Utrecht that denied them qualification to the Europa League proper despite going to Holland with a two-goal lead. He said: "I couldn't really believe what happened on Thursday night. I would never have thought it could happen. Of course European football was an attraction to me coming here so it's disappointing, but I have many more years here for that." |
