Daily Sun makes a mountain out of a molehill

In yesterdays Daily Sun appeared a story regarding a fan posting pictures of Lennoxtown on the Internet. Some of the pictures included showed some sensitive material detailing team line-ups and stats regarding players performances in previous matches.

Now I am not condoning what the un-named Celtic Site member ‘Burnsy’ did, in my opinion he wins second prize in the “Daftest Celtic supporter of 2007/2008” Competition. Only beat to the top spot by the clown that invaded the Pitch and tickled Dida, but I do feel that what he did should be put in some perspective.

Yes he posted pictures of the internal goings on at Lennoxtown, but he certainly hadn’t “Celt’ Secrets” (sic) as was alluded to in the Sun’s headline. He was given pictures as a souvenir and he decided to share them over the Internet. Yes a pretty stupid thing to do and potentially damaging for the Club but no real harm done.

The site involved however could be in serious trouble. Quite why the moderators and admin of the Site allowed this material to remain live on their site for so long beggars belief. Get it sorted out chaps!
In other news, the media are again falling over themselves to avoid criticising Rangers Manager Walter Smith for again playing his lone striker 4-5-1 formation. The Cardigan again displayed his lack of tactical awareness by negating his own teams attacking potency against obviously weak opposition in last nights 0-0 draw with Panathiniakos. What followed was 90 minutes of “Anti-football” the like of the World has never seen before!

Dropping your top scorer in a home European match makes no sense, unless you are part of the Rangers Management team or an agent thereof (i.e. A Scottish Sport Journo).

I can remember Martin O’Neill being branded as both “stubborn” and “arrogant” when he refused to alter from his favoured 3-5-2 formation away from home in Europe! FFS this mob can’t even score at home in Europe and it would appear that they are above reproach!

A final query before I sign off, when WGS Strachan fails to consistently play Derek Riordan he is rounded on by the Hacks, Why when Walter benches Boyd why is there no claims of the Manager “ruining his career”?

Yours in Celtic
