Alan ThompsonAlan Thompson's return to Parkhead may also bring back some of the qualities he showed as a player. The Englishman has signed up for Neil Lennon's vision of a side playing with passion which will feed and feed off the fans in the stands. Thompson, like Lennon, is determined to make Parkhead something of a fortress while giving the fans something to sing about.

Thompson said: “Everyone knows how it is. If you get this place rocking and we get the fans in it’s a fantastic place to play your football. We have to try and get the fans back through the turnstiles and fill it up. We have to give them a team that they will enjoy watching, a team that’s not going to concede many goals and a team that will hopefully go forward and be expansive, scoring goals. I know what it’s like to win titles here and if we get supporters back through the turnstiles and the stadium full again it’ll be a success.”

Thompson only stopped playing a couple of years ago and is confident he has what it takes to be a success on the coaching side of things. He knows what it requires to win league titles and in Europe and hopes he will be able to help the current squad in achieving their ambition. He said: “
Neil, Johan and myself, are people who are used to winning games and trophies in our careers so that’s what we’ve got to try and install in our squad. We have to be positive about it, there’s no point in coming in if we don’t believe we can do it. “It’s always going to be difficult but if you compare Neil, Johan and myself then there is a lot of experience in there, maybe not in the management game but certainly in the game of football. It’s a huge task without a doubt but it’s one that we’re all up for and one we look forward to.”
