Charlie Up For a Fight as War of Words Continues with Lawwell

Last updated : 01 December 2008 By Clydebuilt
Charlie Nicholas has continued his war of words with Peter Lawwell after the Chief Executive branded him a "serial Celtic critic" in relation to comments made by Charlie at the weekend.

This war of words resembles a David and Goliath type imbalance as Charlie is not really articulate enough to have a debate with Lawwell over whose name starts with a 'C', never mind the inner machinations of a global brand. This he further displayed with his latest "its no me thuts paranoic 'n' that, its you yourself sitting there sitting and that"

"I don't do paranoia - but he obviously does." Said Charlie starting with his best retort

"Just ask Bobo Balde. He's the guy Lawwell wanted to sign a confidentiality agreement when Birmingham came in for him in August.

"It saddens me this whole thing is getting personal because there was a time when Peter and I were friendly."

Nicholas added: "Lawwell's ego has become so big he has forgotten the true soul of the club, the fans."

Eh??? What is that supposed to mean? What has that got to do with the topic at hand? In what way does that barely strung together sentence answer the following original comment from Lawwell?

Peter said: "I don't accept the squad wasn't strong enough at the start of the season. We always want better, and always want more players. But recent results have proved the squad is strong enough.

"As for Charlie Nicholas, the guy appears to be a serial Celtic critic. He doesn't know what is going on in this club, he has got no idea how a club is run. He appears to be bitter and somewhat paranoid. Although I have not been in the game for my entire life, the time I have been in it has taught me to only recognise the opinions of people you respect.

"Therefore, I don't recognise his comments. The guy has obviously got a problem with Celtic for some reason.

I don't recognise his comments either Peter, I certainly don't recognise them as English!

Yours in Celtic
