Celtic's Monopoly of the Player of the Year Award Continues.

The shortlist for the Player and Young Player of the year awards has been announced and Celtic has three candidates on the list for the main award. Aiden McGeady, Barry Robson and Scott McDonald join sole Ibrox contender Carlos Cuellar in the running for this season's best player.

It will be a travesty of great magnitude if McGeady doesn't win the main award, but his nomination for the Young Player gong will probably seem him gain that accolade leaving the way open for Ugly Betty and Skippy to fight it out for the main event. He should get both awards in my humble opinion.

So given that Celtic has some of the better players available in the SPL why are we struggling so badly? There are a plethora of responses to that particular question ranging from lack of consistency in team selection to the suitability of the coaching and managerial staff but I would state that we just don't seem to have any level of team cohesion. Quite simply we have 11 players but not a team.

Best of luck in the vote Bhoys.

Yours in Celtic
