CELTIC V MOTHERWELL PREVIEW

Last updated : 18 March 2002 By
There are two obstacles standing between Celtic and a second successive championship and one of them is Motherwell Football club.

Celtic travel to Fir Park in search of the three points that will leave them needing just one more win to set up a league deciding game against, as yet unknown, top six opposition.

The bhoys can welcome back Bobo Balde from suspension, though he did not train yesterday and it will be touch and go to see if he makes it on time, and John Hartson. There is however a fitness doubt over Neil Lennon who has again been troubled by a long standing knee injury and it will be just before kick off time beofre we know if he has been included in the starting eleven.

Celtic boss Martin O'Neill is certainly aware of the significance of tonight's game and is certain his players will be ready for any challenge that Motherwell may put up:

"It is a big game for us and all the matches with them are always difficult," he said.

"But I don't have to say anything to the players to get them going - they know what they have to do and they are ready."

Fir Park has been a relatively difficult hunting ground for Celtic in recent years with only one win in their last four visits to Lanarkshire so it should make for a good game as new coach Eric Black strives to maintain the bright start he has made to his Motherwell career.
