Celtic Transfer Shorts. Aiden Going Nowhere, Osasuna Predict Sno and Maloney Tussle.

Aiden McGeady has confirmed that he is more than happy to remain at Celtic this season, despite interest from Spurs, Newcastle and Sunderland. McGeady said, "I'm happy to stay. Things are going well for me at Celtic and it's the ideal place for me to continue my development"

This is good news, but as we all know Aiden signed a new deal last season and he has never made any indication that he was for the offski! One can only imagine that the above quote was engineered to try and stop the flood of speculation that the Scottish Media seem to rouse for Celtic players.

One could argue that this is due to the quality of the player, but the media are always asking about the future of our players and indeed our managers. Given the hype that they have attributed to Rangers players in the past and in the present you would imagine that every premiership team would be interested in Bazza, Novo, Cuellar and McGregor wouldn't you?

The Sunday Mail is today reporting that Celtic and Rangers will go head to head in the summer to secure the services of Shaun Maloney. Supposedly the diminutive forward is desperate to leave (is he home sick again?) Villa and an asking price of £3M will be enough to prise him from Birmingham.

This is the usual type of story that you hear at the start of a transfer window, and one that is unlikely to disappear too soon so a word of warning MrMurray - remember the last few times you went head to head with Celtic over a player? Shall I remind you of Riordan, Hartley or Brown to name but a few.

That said, if you were an intelligent, pacy forward player without a defensive bone in your body you would really want to join Rangers? The Sunday Mail has shown their desperation to get the player signed by Rangers due to the reason that he would get to link up with Kenny McDowall again! lol

In other news today, Osasuna have rekindled their interest in Evander Sno, with Head Coach Jose Ziganda keen to attract the Dutchman to Spain. Osasuna approached Celtic during the January transfer window regarding the player but were rebuffed but it would appear that Celtic may be keen to do business for the highly thought of player due to him entering the final season of his contract.

Yours in Celtic
