Peter Lawwell said on the clubs website: “Accusations in today's press suggesting that Celtic had contacted Manchester City offering Stilian Petrov are completely false.
“We wish Stilian Petrov to remain at the club and this story is totally inaccurate.
“We have had no call at Celtic Park from any newspaper to check the validity of this story.”
Celtic supporters however are questioning the word "innacurate" and the word at Celtic is that their is a deal invlving Barton on the Cards but it may not include petrov.
