Celtic Calls for Continued Positive Support in Corrupt Cup!

Celtic has today thanked us, the fans for our continued support throughout this season and has called upon us to ensure the noise is cranked up when Scotland's Shame come calling on Sunday.

Celtic Chief Executive Peter Lawwell said: "I would like to thank our supporters for the continued positive backing which they have given the club during the course of the season.

"Our supporters have given the team tremendous backing home and away domestically and have obviously made Celtic Park one of the most formidable venues in Europe, by generating such a wonderful atmosphere during our Champions League matches this season.

"While we know that this match will be another very difficult one, the manager, the team and backroom staff are continuing to fight strongly and I know they are very grateful for the great backing which you the fans continue to give them. Sunday will be another match when we will need your great support.

"While our support at the last Celtic v Rangers match was again incredible, we have received reports of objects being thrown on to the pitch from both sets of supporters.

"Clearly this is something which Celtic as a club finds completely unacceptable and we are doing all we can to identify those responsible. We will continue to treat this with great seriousness should it occur again.

"The overwhelming majority of supporters continue to back Celtic in a way which we are very proud of - fans who demonstrate time and time again, positive backing for their team. Let's make sure we do this again on Sunday. Thank you once again for your fantastic support."

Well said Peter.

In a follow up to yesterday's article regarding the new ditty being sang loud and proud by TFOD, we understand that Celtic has been bombarded by emails making them aware of the offensive content of that song and we can expect some form of action to be instigated in the near future.

Yours in Celtic
