Celtic 2-0 Spurs

Craig Beattie and Henri Camara were the goalscorers for Celtic tonight, as The Bhoys comfortably disposed of Spurs by two goals to nil.

During a wet and miserable day in Glasgow, there were fears the game may have been called off.  But a pitch inspection early this afternoon confirmed the game would go ahead.  The weather certainly effected the attendance, but still a healthy 30,000 or so made the journey.

Trialist Charles Coridon appeared in the Celtic staring line-up, and showed some neat and classy touches.  It was his first game, playing with new players and he done well.  Whether he is the answer or not remains to be seen. Coridon joined the likes of Ulrik Laursen, Momo Sylla, Ross Wallace, Craig Beattie and Steven McManus in the Celtic line-up.

The first half was a dull affair, but Celtic's strike partnership of Camara and Beattie were catching the eye.  They are quick together and could cause teams some problems this year, like they did with Spurs tonight.

Bobo Balde had the chance to put Celtic ahead, but the score remained goalless at the interval.  Spurs were deploying a defensive game and were hardly out to impress, by the looks of things.  Maybe due to the absence of Republic of Ireland striker Robbie Keane, who is injured.

In the second half, youngsters O'Dea, McGeady, McCovern and Cuthbert all appeared for Celts, it will do their confidence the world of good.

Celtic's opening goal came from Craig Beattie, who shot from around 35 yards past the helpless Tottenham goalkeeper, Kesey Keller on 59 minutes.  Keller becomes the second American goalkeeper Beattie has scored against this season, following Manchester United's Tim Howard.

The London visitors could have equalised but within ten minutes, Celtic new Bhoy Henri Camara put the game out of their reach.  Pouncing onto a poor backpass, Camara neatly finished his second friendly goal for the club.

Trialist Coridon had a chance to make it three, but missed his late header.

All in all a decent game and a chance to look at things from a squad point of view.  This season's fringe players look more hungry and talented than last year's, though only time will tell.  Roll on the CIS Cup.
