Brian Scott Deal Settled

The tribunal between Brian Scott and Celtic, over Scott's supposed unfair dismissal, was settled in a late minute deal today. The tribunal was stopped during its fourth day.

Scott was mysteriously sacked from the club over a year ago and it was immediatley announced he would be taking Celtic to a tribunal. He had been working at Celtic for 22 years and the reasons for his departure were sketchy at first.

Over the course of the week, revelations have been made that Scott was leaking confidential information to journalists, regarding Celtic's injured players. He has also using equipment on players without the permission of club doctor Roddy MacDonald. Claims were also made that Scott was arriving for work still under the influence of alcohol from the night before, during Celtic's pre-season tours in Sweden and America, in 2003.

I believe the decision to make a settlement came from Celtic, as the club broke several rules during the firing of the physio. Martin O'Neill admitted that he did not follow disciplinary procedures, Scott was not given written or verbal warnings prior to his sacking. This could have got messy for Celtic.

All in all it has been a wasted week and Celtic look to have got out fairly clean, compared to what the outcome could have been.

Brian Scott continues to run his own practise outside Glasgow.
