Boruc: I Am A Lean, Mean Fighting Machine.

Last updated : 02 July 2008 By Clydebuilt

Artur Boruc has revealed today that he is in the best shape of his career after his Euro 2008 exploits after it was revealed that he had been voted the No1 'Keeper of the tournament by German Sports Magazine "Kicker".

An Artur also hinted that maybe he was maybe a little too lean after the Euros.

The Holy Goalie said: "Some people have joked about my fitness level in the past but I think a lot of that is to do with my style of play.

"I like to have a laugh sometimes and maybe my style makes me look a little casual.

"But it's part of my game. I stay on my feet as long as possible and try to cover as much of the goal as I can. I wait for my opponent until the last second and normally it works well.

"Right now I weigh only 115kg. It has been such an intense summer I probably weigh less than I should. But I'm really feeling in good shape.

"Hopefully I'll be back to normal soon - so long as it doesn't affect my reflexes I'll be okay.

"Anyway, as far as I'm concerned mental preparation is more important than physical preparation, particularly for a goalkeeper."

Let us hope that all the potential suitors who have been tracking the greatest Celtic Keeper in living memory continue to be put off by his valuation, and that the Holy Goalie does his bit towards 4-in-a-row.

Yours in Celtic
