Artur Comments on his future

Artur Boruc today spoke out regarding the recent tabloid hyperbole relating to him "doing a Webster" (no not being injured) and buying himself out of his current contract.

A statement on his official website said "Artur is NOT trying to get himself out of Celtic.
"He has asked Celtic for a new contract, but he has not been offered one as of yet.
"In case he is not wanted he has to, like anyone, make other plans.
"Artur's choice is at the moment to remain at Celtic, but, if there is no contract, he has to look at other things."

Manager Gordon Strachan had this to say on the issue "We offered him talks at the beginning of the season and it is just ongoing.
"We were the ones that instigated talks and it is going great at the moment with Peter and Artur. It's fine.
"You don't angle for a contract. You actually say it. We asked Artur to come in and speak to us and he has been."

So unless Artur is looking for silly money we can consider this matter put on the back burner until the matter is decided either way and Boruc either signs or leaves. The important thing is that we do have him under contract and he has made no indication that he is wishing to leave straight away.

I’m sure Erroneous of Keevins et al wont let it rest however.

Yours in Celtic
