Another goal scorer never goes amiss

Charlie MulgrewCharlie Mulgrew has promised to add goals to his game in a bid to boost the charge to the title. Mulgrew has been moved forward to midfield in recent games and is determined to take advantage of his more advanced position to add to the goals for column. Mulgrew has yet to open his account this season but, as he prepares to take on his former club Aberdeen this weekend, hopes that is about to change, . He said: "I feel like I can definitely add goals. I scored five last year from left-back so I think I can score goals, especially getting up the park and getting on the end of crosses coming from the other side and from free-kicks as well. So it does give you more chance of scoring goals. I'm happy to play anywhere so long as I am playing but I do particularly enjoy left midfield. It allows you to get involved in the play, there are more chances of goals, you can get into the box and get down the park and you definitely feel like you are more involved."

Mulgrew believes the never-say-die attitude that pervades Parkhead has helped take them to the top of the SPL table. He went on: "The team spirit is there. We have shown it a few times this season, scoring last-minute goals. We just need to keep believing right to the last minute, especially when you don't get the decisions you deserve. But it shows character that we can keep fighting on in how we got the goal late on against Hamilton and were unlucky not to win the game in the end. We just need to take things one game at a time and keep getting victories."

The arrival of Craig Brown and Archie Knox have turned Aberdeen into a rather different prospect than the one which presented itself the last time the sides met at Parkhead.  Mulgrew expects them to arrive keen to make amends for the drubbing. He said: "After beating them 9-0 the last time, they will be back to try and prove a point so it's going to be a hard game. But, if we play the way we can, we can win the match."
