Aiden McGeady Player of the Year X 2!

Aiden McGeady took both Player of the Year awards last night at the annual doo in Glasgow. McGeady pipped Carlos "Cruella" Cuellar to the top award and also scooped the Young Players award for good measure!

McGeady's form this season, which he attributes to the coaching staff at Celtic and fitness guru Gregory Dupont has been sparkling and he must have lost count of the many bottles of Champagne that have come his way this season in MOTM performances.

Aiden was humble after the brace of awards saying,"Obviously I am delighted, quite surprised to be honest,"

"I thought I had a good chance with young player but I thought well, there were a few other players who were before me so I have got to give thanks to the players who have voted for me.

"I think my game has come on an awful lot with the help of the coaching staff and the players I play with but consistency is the main thing."

This years manager of the year award went to none other than………………. Billy Reid, manager of Hamilton. Nae luck Wattie!

In other news the Sunday Herald has issued an apology after a freelance columnist suggested that Celtic Fans would prefer to be managed by a "bead rattling Hoopy the Hound" than Gordon Strachan. The Paper issued a full and unreserved apology stating that "The use of the term is clearly unacceptable in a quality newspaper" and they added that it is "Clearly unacceptable in any context in any walk of life"

The Herald also went on to highlight the papers previous stance on sectarianism in Scotland, stating that they have "written dozens of articles etc".

It's a shame you sacked the journalist who was writing most of these articles though isn't it?

I also understand that Kenny Hodgart, the columnist who penned the offensive article heard the phrase being uttered by a Celtic Fan in a conversation regarding the media's perpetration of the "Celtic Minded" myth and decided to use the phrase to his own ends. D'oh

Yours in Celtic
