Aalborg send blind spy to Paisley

Celtic coach Neil Lennon can't wait for kick-off in the Energi Nord Stadium on Tuesday night in what he sees as the Parkhead side's best chance to gather those elusive Champions League away points. "It is a must-win game for us," said the former captain "and I think it will be a British style game. Aiden McGeady has a great chance of making it but we have plenty of attacking options and players capable of scoring a goal at any time."

Gordon Strachan's assistant isn't happy that we're now in a position where we have to depend on Manchester United beating Villarreal in Spain to keep the Champions League dream alive. "It is frustrating that qualifying is out of our hands but we have to get on and win this game and that is not a certainty by any means," he said "but we are in good form and we want to get that monkey off our back in terms of winning away from home."

Scott McDonald thinks the Celts must play to their strengths and go for the win because any result other than three points to Celtic could ultimately mean a European exit "We should go with what we know best and that's playing attacking football. At times when we've tried to defend it's been our Achilles heel." said McDonald "Yes, you'll be confident because you are playing well, so hopefully we can take that to Aalborg, but in Europe it's different circumstances and a different type of football. We'll get our head round that, look forward to it and hopefully break our duck.

Andreas Hinkel knows that qualification for the last sixteen of Europe's premier competition is still a realistic target for the Hoops and he's looking forward to both remaining games in the Champions League "It will be a hard game because Aalborg will fight, but we will too," said the German international defender "It's the last chance for both teams for the Uefa Cup, or for us to go through in the Champions League. It's still possible that we can get through the group. Not a big chance but it is not impossible for us. In football everything is possible."

Hinkel knows that the result of the other group E match will be hugely significant "Of course, we don't have it in our hands because we need Manchester United to beat Villarreal as well." he said "If we win, and United win, it will set up a real final at Celtic Park against Villarreal and anything can happen at Celtic Park."

Aalborg sent scout Per Westergaard to Paisley and his report on Celtic's 3-1 win over St Mirren has instilled confidence in the Danes and the spy, bizarrely, insisted it was the skill of the Buddies that caught his eye.

"Celtic are not intimidating and I believe we will win against them." said the scout "There was no player who was outstanding, on the contrary I was more impressed by St Mirren who managed to get some great scoring chances. Celtic's defence is far from world class and we will create many chances if we manage to keep the ball on the ground. There is no use going into air war against Celtic, because that will be a war and we will lose as Celtic have players with great heading ability."
