$10 Million Dollar Bid for Naka to Return to Japan

Japanese Sports paper Nikkan is today reporting that Yokohama Marinos will launch a bid to bring Shunsuke Nakamura home to his native Japan in the summer rather than wait till next summer when the player becomes a free agent.

The story appeared in a New Zealand publication this morning - with the price tag being quoted in Kiwi Dollars. It would amount to around £3.6M

The Japanese paper stated that the Japanese Club had spoken to Nakamura directly after Celtic's 3-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester United.

Yokohama's Masanori Hakamada told Reuters "There's a lot of speculation but nothing has been decided". "While we have been in touch, there is no concrete progress to report at this stage."

"He said that because has a child who will be going to kindergarten soon and he's 30 years old too, he appears to have decided to return to Japan," Kawabuchi told the Nikkan Sports.

I personally would prefer to hold onto the Japanese Genius till the end of the season, but if he and his family are eager to return home then I am sure that the Club will allow him to leave with their blessing, and I am also sure that the supporters will give him a great send off!

Yours in Celtic
